This cemetery was opened in December 1914 by four battalions of the British 5th Division. It was originally known as Wulverghem Dressing Station Cemetery and remained in use until June 1917. Further burials were added in September and October 1918. A total of 1,010 Commonwealth war dead are now commemorated here. 352 of the burials are of unidentified soldiers.
