A new recreation area has been made next to the sports centre in Wijtschate. There is an area for outdoor sports - beach volleyball, petanque and a football pitch, all surrounded by a grass running track that is ideal for recreational joggers - and a play area for the kids, complete with climbing and clambering frames (+6 years), a bird's nest, an exciting see-saw and a bouncy bridge. Near the play area, there is also a covered zone with benches and public toilets. There is even a site where you can make your own camp fire!
