The Broekelzen nature reserve consists of mixed fontinal wood, surrounded by adjoining meadows and fields. The wetter areas are an ideal habitat for marsh marigolds and oxlip, while wood anemones and wild hyacinths flourish in the drier parts. The reserve is owned by Natuurpunt and can best be visited by following either the Broekelzen path, which starts in the village of Westouter, or the Heuvelland walking network.
