The Hellebeek nature reserve covers an area of some 8 hectares in Loker (one of the municipalities in Heuvelland). It is owned and managed by Natuurpunt and consists primarily of wet and dry grasslands, with several areas of ecologically valuable woodland and pools in the valley of the Hellebeek stream. The typical plants found in the reserve include loosestrife, marsh marigold, black bryony, sneezewort, speckled arum lily, real cuckoo flower and cabbage thistle, while the fauna include deer, yellowhammers, brown hairstreak butterflies and palmate newts.
