Lone Tree Cemetery is located close to the Lone Tree crater (also known as the of Spanbroekmolen crater), one of the 19 craters resulting from the explosion of mines at the start of the Battle of Messines Ridge. A total of 88 soldiers from the United Kingdom are commemorated here, nearly all of whom died on the first day of this battle.
The cemetery covers an area of 616 m² and is enclosed by a brick wall.
